Gather — Terms of Use

Gather helps small groups plan trips and events together. By creating an account you agree to these terms. They are short because the app is small.

Your account

• You need to be 13 or older to use Gather.
• Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. It removes your account, the plans you own, and everything in them, permanently.

What you may not post

Gather's chats, expense notes, itineraries and bring lists carry content written by the people in a plan. We do not tolerate:

• Harassment, threats, hate speech, or abuse of any person or group
• Sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises a minor
• Content that is unlawful, that incites violence, or that promotes self-harm
• Spam, scams, or impersonating someone else
• Anything you don't have the right to share

There is no appeal for content that sexualises a minor. It is reported to the authorities and the account is removed immediately and permanently.

Reporting, blocking, and removal

Three tools, for three different situations:

• Report — press and hold any message and choose Report. It reaches us with the message text attached, so a sender deleting the original doesn't erase the evidence. We review every report and aim to act within 24 hours.
• Block — press and hold a message and choose Block. Their messages stop reaching you everywhere, immediately. They are not told. Undo it from Account → Blocked.
• Remove — the person who owns a trip or hosts an event can remove anyone from it, from the guest list. Anyone can leave a plan at any time.

We may remove content, remove an account, or refuse service to anyone who breaks these terms. Where a violation is serious we act without warning.

What the app doesn't do

• Gather does not move money. Shared costs are arithmetic on numbers you type in — nothing is charged, transferred, or connected to a bank.
• Gather is free, carries no advertising, and contains no purchases.
• Plans are private to the people who joined them. There is no public feed and no way to discover a stranger's plan.

No warranty

Gather is provided as it is. We try to keep it working and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never lose data or be unavailable. Don't rely on it as the only record of something that matters — a flight confirmation, say.

Changes

If these terms change materially we'll say so in the app before the change takes effect.
