Gather — Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 August 2026

Gather helps small groups plan trips and events together. This policy explains what the app stores, why, who it reaches, and how to remove it. It describes what the app actually does — not a generic template.

What we collect

We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. There are no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the app.

Why we collect it

Solely to provide the service: to show you your plans, share them with the people you invite, split costs, and sign you in. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Who can see what

People you share a trip or event with can see that plan's contents and your display name. Nobody else can — access is enforced by row-level security on the database, not only in the app.

Who we share it with

We do not share your data with anyone else.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account from Account → Delete my account in the app. It is immediate and permanent, and removes:

Two things to know. Deleting your account removes your messages from group chats, which will leave gaps for the others. And if you only leave a plan rather than delete your account, the messages you sent and the expenses you paid stay with the group — removing them would silently rewrite other people's chat history and balances.

Deleting a trip or event removes everything inside it for everyone in it.

Signing out clears the copy cached on your device.

How long we keep it

Your data is kept until you delete it. We do not retain backups of deleted accounts beyond our provider's standard operational retention.

Children

Gather is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
